Instructor: Jim Hetchler

    He was born and raised in DeKalb, IL. He was a police officer there for a few years before going into Army Counter Intelligence for 7 years. After leaving the Army he was a deputy sheriff in Lafayette, LA for 3 years and then owned a Private Detective Company for a few years. He then moved to Texas in 1980. He was the EMS Coordinator for Atascosa County for 9 years before we moved to New Braunfels in 1990. He owned a repossession company until Oct 2004. During this time he owned the company he learned some basic auto key generation. He went to a few schools to learn how to make keys and open cars. Therefore when he got out of the repossession business he decided to try his hand at making car keys in August 1995 and found his passion in life. Within a year of beginning this new profession he was teaching for the Texas Locksmith Association. He also made Instructional Video's for Elite CEU's out of Austin, Texas that are distributed nationwide. He is an Instructor for the Associated Locksmiths of America, he also teaches for Tactical Operations Special Services out of Virginia. He has a Department of Public Safety (DPS) Licensed School Certificate for Texas License #Y00121. He is also licensed by the DPS as required to be a locksmith in Texas. He started the Key Pro Website in 2005 which is dedicated to Automotive Locksmiths and currently has over 1300 members. He was the President of the San Antonio Locksmith Association for one term and on the board for 5 years. He was also on the Board of Director’s for the Texas Locksmith Association for 9 years while serving as President for three terms. He was also the Chairman of the Locksmith Security Committee for three years under the Department of Public Safety/Private Security Bureau. .
